Insulating Concrete Form (ICF) homes start with a minimum R-17 value (4” of Polystyrene and 5” concrete), combined with a high Thermal Mass means you will not feel the effects of the temperature extremes outdoors.  This will reduce the load on heating/cooling units.  Since you will be surrounded by an envelope of concrete, air infiltration is greatly reduced.  Air drafts commonly felt in conventional construction are almost eliminated.
